Should you build a forge or buy one?

In this video post I'll lay out the pros and cons of buying vs. building I've experienced over the better part of a decade of forging. As always, this is just one blacksmith's opinion.

Reasons to Build a Forge

• You enjoy working with your hands and get satisfaction from making things work.
• You have more time than money. 
• To prove you can do it/the cool factor.
• You don't need to start forging soon.

Reasons to Buy a Forge

• You have a few hundred dollars to spend. (One of my gas forges from Majestic costs $377 with shipping. Very reasonable for a great forge.)
• You're ready to start forging yesterday.
• You might trust a forge manufacturer's abilities a little more than your own.
